You never know where your inspiration will come from.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;Christmas Gargoyle<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fred struggled to find a gift<br>During the Christmas season<br>Something his wife would like<br>And so was the reason<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A nice garden statue<br>Might please her so<br>He asked the advice of a friend<br>What she might know<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said maybe a gargoyle<br>Would be a surprise<br>If nothing else<br>It would generate a rise<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, Fred made the purchase<br>Gave it on Xmas eve<br>His wife\u2019s icy reaction<br>Should have made him leave<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now Fred is dead<br>To death, he bled<br>When the gargoyle fell<br>Breaking open his head<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But it has been suggested <br>By others instead<br>That his wife beaned him with it<br>Before going to bed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, when shopping for gifts<br>It is best to think twice<br>Proceed with some caution<br>Before taking advice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This poem was written prior to this past Christmas in response to a friends&#8217; joking suggestion that I give my wife a gargoyle garden statue as a gift.
